What is KFC? What is it all about?

KFC is an American fast-food chain that was born out of the financial crisis of the Great Depression. This fast-food franchise initially started as a humble enterprise of Hartland Sanders who cooked fried chicken for hungry travelers. Later on, the founding father of KFC got the title of ‘Colonel’ for his services to the country. White signature Van Dyke beard and a white suit with a black tie on the red chicken buckets became one of the most celebrated and popular brand looks for generations.

 What’s the secret to KFC’s mouth-watering fried chicken?

KFC’s slogan ‘chicken like no other’ makes one wonder what exactly is their recipe and how do they produce it. KFC mainly produces pressure-fried chicken seasoned with Colonel Sanders’ 11 herbs and spices. The exact process of preparing this chicken is not available to the general public as it is their trade secret. Within a few years of selling this chicken from his roadside restaurant, Colonel Sanders perfected his ‘11 herbs and spices’ recipe which stood the test of time and is ‘finger-lickin’ good.’ From bite-sized chicken strips to chicken breasts and wings, KFC has got it all covered for a quick snack or a large meal. History of KFC  

Colonel Harland Sanders started selling his ‘finger lickin’ fried chickens from a roadside restaurant in Corbin, Kentucky. KFC brought a new dimension to the fast-food trends of America by popularizing fried chickens as a brand new franchise.KFC quickly picked up customers because of its ability to maximise your money. 

How it started – Its first-ever franchise was started in Salt Lake City, Utah in 1952. Since then, KFC has gone on to become the second-largest fast-food chain in the world. In the 60s, KFC expanded its branches to Canada, United Kingdom, Mexico, and Jamaica.KFC brought their mouthwatering chicken fries to Canada in 1952 and has expanded their franchise since then.

The number of KFCs in Canada and the United States – At present, there are 3983 KFCs in the United States of America. In Canada, there are currently 567 KFCs.Once KFC started garnering global attention and expanded into an international fast-food chain, Colonel Hartland Sanders sold it to a group of investors in 1964.  The legacy of Colonel Sanders still lives on as the brand continues to promote itself with his image on the logo.
