Preparing an elaborate dinner is often hectic on a weeknight, especially for working moms. On most nights quick and easy is the name of the game. So if you are looking for a fast, amazing and reliable recipe, your search is over. Here is a chicken recipe that can be prepared in just 15 minutes.
Honey Garlic Chicken
This easy 15 minute honey garlic chicken is flavorful, tender and family friendly. You will just love the sweet and garlicky sauce poured over the crispy, juicy chicken. It is absolutely delicious and requires minimum ingredients as well as promises maximum satisfaction. So, let us begin!
Ingredients
Chicken
- olive oil + butter
- 1 and 1/2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into small cubes (about 1/2 inch)
- Salt
- Pepper
- Corn-starch: for coating – makes the chicken a little crispy
- Dried Oregano
Honey Sauce
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 3 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 tablespoons coconut amino
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, adjust for heat)
For Serving (Optional):
- Brown rice, sliced green onions, sesame seeds, lime wedges to squeeze over chicken
Instructions
- Combine corn-starch, salt, pepper, and oregano in a shallow plate. Coat chicken breast cubes with the corn-starch mixture.
- Heat up a tablespoon of butter and a tablespoon of olive oil in a 12-inch skillet set over medium-high heat.
- Add the chicken breast cubes to the hot skillet and cook for 5 minutes. Turn over the chicken, add a tablespoon of butter, and continue to cook for 4 more minutes, or until cooked through.
- Meanwhile, make the sauce. Whisk the honey, soy sauce, garlic, coconut amino and red pepper flakes, if using, in a small bowl until well combined.
- Pour sauce into a skillet with chicken. Let it all simmer (sauce will be very bubbly) on medium-high heat for 5 minutes, flipping chicken halfway through cooking time. When finished, the sauce will have thickened and chicken should be completely cooked through. Turn off heat and let it sit for a minute so bubbles go away. Garnish chicken with parsley and sesame seeds.
- Serve with steamed rice and top with green onions, sesame seeds and a squeeze of lime juice, if desired.
What To Serve With Honey Garlic Chicken?
- Honey Garlic Chicken can be served with a few simple sides. It goes well with either brown rice or cauliflower rice. Add a veggie on the side. Cauliflower Mash, Air Fryer Brussels Sprouts and Garlicky Lemon Parmesan Broccoli are a few options that are just perfect.
- You can also serve this chicken over pasta or zucchini noodles. Place the chicken tenders over a serving of pasta or zoodles, and spoon the sauce right on top.
Notes For Recipe
- Be careful not to overcook the chicken. The pieces are small so they cook fast. But you don’t want them to go too far and be overdone.
- You can substitute boneless, skinless chicken breast with boneless, skinless chicken thighs if you prefer, but the cooking time will be longer.
So, don’t wait for a special occasion. Try this restaurant style Honey Garlic Chicken recipe as soon as possible. And for more such interesting food tips, stay tuned to Eco Eats.
